He has the worst sv% and gaa in the league. That has nothing to do with the team in front of him. He has been terrible and thats putting it nicely.

I thought he looked fine through two periods. But in the third he was all over the place...flopping, stabbing awkwardly at pucks with that glove hand, and worst of all, it looked like he went from 6'3 to about 5'2 when standing in the net. All signs of no confidence, but how long are you going to just hope he gets over that? It's actually not much different from Poulin...he would also make a few dazzling saves early on before completely falling apart in the third. I'm sure it's tough for a goalie to maintain a high level of concentration and preparedness through 60 minutes, but I guess that's what separates a good goalie from a bad one.

I don't blame Johnson for the loss...he can't get the team to forecheck better and can't make Detroit play looser defensively (haven't seen a team lock down that effectively in a while...note for next time: score the first goal!). But I wasn't encouraged by Johnson's game either where I'd say, "OK, they lost, but I'm confident putting him back in net at least." I said early on that when he gets the start, you know you'll need to score 5 or 6 goals to get the win, and Saturday was no exception.

The team is just spoiled because Halak plays at a high tempo. Not many other goaltenders could carry this team. With Johnson he is average or a bit below, but the lack of defensive strength shows through the team. Fourth line really carries the physical play at forward. No knock on the D but they have to constantly carry the puck as well. Just a matter of time for he team to physically mature. Team was 7-5 in January with the two wins against NYR as the two best games. Now the injuries makes it a good time to see some guys step up or fresh faces on the team.

That loss wasnt his fault but it doesnt change the fact that hes terrible and not dependable in any way. Capuano obviously has zero confidence in him and neither does the team. Cant keep waiting for this guy to find his game its February.

Smart move by Yzerman though they have a viable option in Val. Kid is good. We unfortunately have Poulin who is just as bad as Johnson. We should be in the market for a back up goaltender.

I think you give poulin one more chance before making a trade. His last start was after playing the night before in the ahl and not all the goals were his fault

Its true he was on the wrong end of a back to back but he has the same issues he has jad in the past. Almost beating a dead horse at this point and we've pissed away enough pts with johnson already.

Yeah that's the biggest problem is the management is reluctant to make a move even though it's clear something needs to be done. I want Ramo or Reimer

Well we aren't real sure of that yet? I'll say that when the deadline comes and goes. There may be a demand for backups believe it or not this deadline. Tampa may not want to rush Vasil even though the kid looks lights out and it's pretty obvious we need one. Snow may be trying to work this best deal without getting fleeced? Either way he's got some time but the sooner the better of course.

Johnson plays butterfly style and noticed he wasn't down as much in the past and he seemed to be stronger as well. Some sequences he looked like hecwas seeing and handling the puck well but he did get beat bad on some long shots. team does definitely need to play a different style with him in the nets. The sv pct not NHL quality.o
